  • Overview

    The Associate Account Director (AAD) is a rising star who is passionate about building long-term strategic partnerships with clients. They know how to work with a team to solve clients’ business problems and are adept at building and growing meaningful relationships. The AAD also has a proven track record in Account Services, including experience driving diverse accounts and demonstrated success in guiding and inspiring creative work that builds brands and delivers success. They are versatile and can lead direct mail, email and digital programs, understand complex client organizational structures, and possess multi-category experience including: consumer, B2B and healthcare (non-profit and education also preferred.)


    • Takes leadership role in development of annual marketing plan for assigned client business, defining scope and resources needed to fulfill recommendation while exploring incremental activities to grow client and agency business
    • Lead the internal agency team(s) on assigned projects
    • Responsible for Strategic Planning on assigned accounts
    • Management of marketing campaigns, executions and budgets
    • Aid in the development of new opportunities for growth and prepare management presentations for review
    • Maintain strong partnership with client counterparts acting as their trusted advisor
    • Ensures that the resources of the Account Management team are deployed with continued maximum effectiveness in the best interest of the clients.
    • Keeps well informed on all client activities, enabling anticipation of issues/concerns (internal or external) or client dissatisfaction and takes steps to remedy any such situation
    • Guides, advises, assists, and stimulates the Account Management staff in developing and presenting new project briefs and in activating the projects accepted by Clients. Participates in and contributes to the formulation of advertising/marketing plans for assigned clients
    • Reviews all project briefs before submission to the Client and makes sure that all stakeholders are in agreement on them in advance
    • Reviews and approves finished creative executions before submission to the Client
    • Maintains continual communication with Creative team in order to foster good relationships and creative work
    • Talent management duties include hiring, job descriptions, giving performance feedback, conducting performance reviews, developing goals, training/mentoring and making salary/promotion  recommendations,
    • Participates in and contributes to the new business activities of the agency
    • Leads the development of annual "Year-in-Review" analysis of past year marketing activities
    • May include other duties as assigned


    • BA in advertising, marketing or related field
    • 8-10 years marketing/advertising experience including some in an agency environment
    • Strategic planning experience
    • Digital/Direct experience
    • Strong leadership skills

    • Outstanding writing skills
    • Creative thinker/problem solver
    • Strong project management skills
    • Ability to develop/mentor junior talent
    • Healthcare insurance provider experience required
    • Non-profit/Education client experience a plus
