  • Overview

    The Director, Digital Strategy creates plans for each client by evaluating stated goals/objectives and providing performance based solutions for paid, owned and earned media.  To do this effectively, Digital Strategists must keep an active pulse on digital trends and tactics to create both short-term and long-term strategies that encourage client retention alongside immediate goal accomplishments.

     

    The Director, Digital Strategy will be responsible for collaboaring directly with client and cross-functional teams to set a vision and define a clear strategy for success.

    Responsibilities

    • In-depth knowledge of client business objectives, strategies and competitive landscape
    • Develops digital campaign strategy and media plans and builds upon current client strategies to meet/exceed objectives
    • Ensures that learning objectives and KPIs are established
    • Reviews the data strategy
    • Ensures that the team is developing strong, trusting relationships between clients and agency partners, providing leadership and support during strategy, ideation, and execution
    • Manages client expectations, bringing issues/concerns to clients' attention before they become problems, offering potential solutions, and advising of potential delivery delays
    • Participates in regular client meetings and leads client presentations
    • Educates the client on the synergy of paid, owned and earned media
    • Is an expert for the client and a go-to-resource for all things digital media – Search (Paid and Organic), Display, Social, SEO/Content, User Experience/web design, email marketing, and knowledge of web analytics methodologies.
    • Uses data to inform decisions on strategic directions and plans
    • Analyzes campaign performance (through web analytics and statistical reports) against goals and provides recommendations for change as needed.
    • Provides sales support for new business presentations
    • Supervision and career development of Digital Channel Managers and Senior Digital Channel Managers
    • Supports training and mentoring of Digital Channel Managers and Senior Digital Channel Managers, including contributing to and organization of process materials

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors degree required in marketing or related field
    • Approximately 10+ years of related industry experience
    • History of producing effective digital marketing strategies
    • Demonstrated track record of client relationship development and service
    • Proven experience working cross-functionally within an organization
    • Strong interpersonal communication skills
    • Knowledge of the interaction of paid, owned and earned media
    • Healthcare marketing experience a plus
    • Superior communication skills, both internal and client-facing
    • Agency or consulting experience a plus
    • Ability to work effectively with a variety of internal teams and business groups, including Creative, Campaign Strategists, Project Management, and Technology Solutions.
