  • Overview

    The Proposal Writer is an integral member of the business development team and is responsible for supporting them by facilitating and developing RFIs, RFPs, and presentations, as well as other sales related materials. In this hands-on role the Proposal Writer, in tandem with the Sales Executive, is responsible for organizing a cross functional team of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to articulate Wunderman’s unique selling proposition (USP) and to communicate that USP to clients, and prospects alike.


    • Develop project plans, organize proposal kick-off meetings/response documents and assign SME ownership for deliverables.
    • Support proposal development by preparing response outlines, writing content, and coordinating/assisting the writing of SME proposal sections that are, persuasive succinct, and accurate.
      • Provide research analysis in support of new client targets.
      • Research of insightful information including but not limited to, sourcing content, conducting interviews.
    • Collaborate/ coordinate with SMEs to develop and write content that clearly articulate the overall solution and strategy, approach to performing the work, win themes, and USP.
      • Write clear, persuasive, and articulate proposal sections; help translate technical and other ideas into easily understandable concepts and benefits.
      • Assist other writers/SMEs in the development of content and graphics/illustrations in accordance with win strategies.
      • Review, edit and synthesize content from multiple authors, SMEs and consultants to tell a cohesive story in a single voice.
    • Manages proposal delivery
      • Coordinate proposal activities to ensure that proposal are completed on time including but not limited to scrum meetings, internal reviews etc.
      • Identify, resolve, mitigate, and escalate gaps and risks to proposal management and operations leadership.
      • Edit/proofread for accuracy, clarity, style, consistency, grammar and syntax.
      • Ensure compliance with all client dictated requirements and that all content is consistent with the organization’s brand message, value proposition, business objectives and style standards.
      • Assist in producing, binding, packaging and shipping all customer documents.


    • Minimum two years’ experience writing/managing RFIs, RFPs, reports, briefs, and similar content or within operations of marketing automation.
    • High-level understanding of Database, Campaign Management, Email, BI, Analytics, Security, CRM, etc. concepts.
    • Bachelor’s degree in English or other related discipline.
    • Strong writing/editing abilities.
    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat etc.
    • Ability to work under tight deadlines and on multiple projects.
    • Highly organized, proactive, and collaborative.
    • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
    • Flexibility/drive to meet proposal requirements and deadlines.
