  • Overview

    Supports and identifies Strategy & Insights processes related to client projects and business growth through market planning and key research.


    Strategy and Insights
    -Analyzes client competitive positioning, messaging, KOL perspectives and overall communications
    -Collaborates with Account Management teams to develop project schedules and manage project tasks (e.g., project milestones, interim deliverables, presentations and other important aspects of Strategy & Insights processes)
    -Communicates specific strategic objectives to clients and manages budgets and timeframes across strategic projects
    -Contributes to client strategic initiatives (e.g., CRM infrastructure development, organizational alignment, feasibility assessments and other projects that arise from client engagements)
    -Leads the development of cross-departmental strategy processing with Marketing Analytics, Media, Interactive, Creative and Teleservices -Additional duties may be assigned Research
    -Identifies research resources and drives collection of inputs into the strategic analysis process
    -Supports the Strategy & Insights department with research techniques and clearly articulates business benefits, rationale and intended use of research findings -Communicates quantitative and qualitative research with the Strategy & Insights team and across the agency -Consolidates research findings into:

    *insightful personas to drive clear targeting
    *a concise brief to guide creative development
    *an over-arching strategy plan to support major marketing initiatives

    -Creates touch-point maps and other visual techniques commonly used to depict how different elements of a full-scale marketing program interact
    -Identifies appropriate external research suppliers to ensure research projects achieve objectives within time frame and budget
    -Enhances agency relationships with a core group of research suppliers Client Relations
    -Works with Account Management teams to maintain and grow client relationships
    -Works with Account Management teams on sell-ins for new project ideas to client and utilizes additional agency and network resources -Works with Account Management teams to manage client expectations




    • Bachelor’s degree plus seven years’ or more experience in marketing strategy or planning in the direct marketing field  
    • Marketing expertise in one or more industry categories: pharmaceuticals, health care, retail/services, high-tech, financial services
    • Proven experience with different channels (e.g., B2B or Broad Consumer programs)
    • Advanced knowledge of online research techniques
    • Advanced competencies in Microsoft Office and Internet environments
    • Ability to scope projects accurately, prioritize time well and juggle multiple projects effectively
    • Ability to communicate coherently and sensitively with clients, vendors and staff members
    • Excellent writing, verbal, presentation and consensus-building skills
    • Intuitive and analytical approach to problem solving
    • Ability to organize people, projects and information
    • Ability to offer proactive solutions and ensure successful progression without guidance
    • Ability to mentor and provide leadership across departments in a team and matrix environment
    • Ability to exhibit client service approach with results-driven performance
