    To help us succeed, Wunderman is seeking a Senior Digital Copy Editor to join our growing team.

    A Wunderman Senior Digital Copy Editor will lead writing and copy across clients in all digital channels for a variety of industries – from educational and informative to persuasive marketing content. This person will also be responsible for supporting, coaching and leading a team of copywriters.

     

    This position is based in our Memphis, TN office which is the not only the home of Elvis but also Digital Performance Media for Wunderman.  If you are qualified and ready for a fast-paced, super collaborative culture with high expectations for our clients, then you may be the perfect fit!

    Responsibilities

    • Create compelling content for a broad variety of digital destinations — websites, paid media ads, articles, social, email and more!
    • Ability to create editorial, advertorial, and product copy; long-form and short-form; educational a aspirational, etc.
    • Provide leadership, coaching and support to a team of copywriters
    • Oversee brief translation and copy creation across the copywriting team
    • Research, define, and write for specific audiences with the intention of accomplishing campaign goals
    • Manage the copy-editing process to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness for the work itself and for the teams
    • Partner with UX and SEO experts to concept and apply messaging to our digital personas, templates and components
    • Be an advocate of the customer and user, working with the content strategists to balance business goals with customer goals
    • Deliver results in a data-focused culture
    • Develop and oversee brand guidelines for voice and tone for various clients and industries
    • Push readers to action
    • Understand the nuance of creating channel-appropriate content – like Facebook or mobile vs. a blog or a website
    • Act as a project’s primary editor when you receive internal or external feedback
    • Synthesize strategic messages and multiple opinions into consumer friendly copy

    Qualifications

    • 8+ years work experience in copywriting and content strategy either in an agency or working with large brands
    • 5+ years of direct experience leading a team of writers and helping define process to drive efficiencies and success.
    • Bachelor’s in Marketing, Journalism, Mass Comm, Advertising, PR, English
    • Proficiency in multiple writing formats and industries, i.e. long editorial, short, social, web, etc.
    • Has a knack for an emotive tone as well as direct and transactional tone
    • Strong proofreading and editing skills
    • Above average interest and knowledge of digital tactics: website and blog content, SEO, social media, digital UX, and paid media (paid search, paid social, display)
    • Proven experience using content to accomplish brand, client, or business goals
    • A reliable subject matter expert and works well under pressure of deadlines
    • Self-directed, organized, efficient; able to manage multiple complex decisions at once across various teams
    • Past experience effectively improving results through content
    • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships—and be fun to work with
    • Healthcare, financial industry or other regulated industry experience strongly preferred
