    Wunderman, an award winning creative digital advertising agency within WPP, one of the world’s most highly regarded marketing networks, is seeking a forward-thinking HR professional with 10+ years’ progressive experience in matrix organizations to join our team as Human Resources Director for our office in Washington DC. You will partner with the Executive Team and drive the people strategy for your office of 175 smart, fun and energized marketing professionals.  It’s a great time to join our amazing team.




    In this critical HR leadership role, you will engage with key business leaders to develop and build a culture and environment that drives business success and engages a unique workforce. In addition, you will develop and implement a comprehensive workforce strategy aligned with the business strategy, while leveraging the broader Wunderman organization. You will also have the opportunity to partner with HR business partners and specialist in the areas of learning & development, talent acquisition, and reward.  As a member of the Wunderman Global HR team with cross-Wunderman responsibilities, you will own & drive global initiatives and champion a collaborative culture.


    Specifically, you will…

    • Drive the strategic people plan for the Wunderman business, with input on key people initiatives contributing to business growth in the region, by developing effective partnerships
    • Guide and support leadership regarding all things people
    • Build and implement programs designed to foster a culture of belonging
    • Build a workforce plan addressing short/longer term talent requirements to support business growth, ensuring sound understanding of business growth drivers from a people perspective
    • Equip key business leaders with appropriate tools and knowledge to effectively manage employees all with their people plans, including coaching for high performance and employee development
    • Champion, with the Global Chief Talent Officer, the transitioning of performance management from an annual process to an agile one that develops talent and identifies high performance
    • Identify opportunities to improve employee engagement, leveraging matrix resources to achieve identified improvement targets
    • Provide transformational support on change management initiatives, for key projects to improve business performance


    The successful candidate will...

    • Track record of success in a human resources career with 10+ years’ progressive HR experience, ideally within a complex matrix environment
    • Demonstrated deep strategic understanding of how to build and deliver programs that solve organizational people challenges, mitigate risk to the organization and support an open, creative culture
    • Global mindset and client-focus, with demonstrated ability to collaborate and partner effectively as part of a team
    • Excellent communication and influencing skills, both written and spoken
    • Understanding of the change management agenda and associated tools, ideally with a change management qualification
    • Demonstrated effective use of analytics in driving people-related initiatives
    • Bachelors’ degree preferred, with a post-graduate HR certification (e.g. G/SPHR) desired.
