  • Overview

    Manager, Business Intelligence – Memphis, TN

    The Manager will focus on reporting and analysis through the sales funnel, with a secondary emphasis on advanced analysis of survey results. You will work with lead generation and conversion data across various marketing channels, as well as survey and qualitative data, sourced both from the Navy and from other partners, so you will need to show a keen willingness to learn about new data and systems.

    All reporting will be done using Business Objects 4.x and all data analysis will be done using SQL, and the suitable candidate will have knowledge of various tools within Business Objects Enterprise Suite to build reports and set up best practices within that reporting environment. We are looking for an individual with pro-active communication, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn about our clients’ businesses. By effectively applying customer analysis and insight processes across the various data sources, our target candidate sees this as an opportunity to hone their existing skills while gaining consultative experience by analyzing large transactional data sets and creating concise and actionable insights.

     

     

    Responsibilities

    • Mentor and manage junior analysts, contributing to their technical and career development
    • Manage significant client interaction by working together with the Navy and internal account teams on data, reporting and analytical issues including: data tracking, report validation, segmentation, customer profile development and marketing ROI
    • Utilize the US Navy’s raw marketing data and business intelligence tools such as SQL, Business Objects 4.x, SAS, Excel and PowerPoint to help them better understand their lead generation and conversion efforts
    • Manage expectations of both internal and external clients by making data-based recommendations to improve/optimize marketing channels and the US Navy’s lead generation goals
    • Contribute at every step from reading in the data received from the customer, rolling it up, analyzing the results, preparing the PowerPoint deck and presenting

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Analytics or a related field
    • 7-10 years working in database marketing, business intelligence or marketing analytics
    • Demonstrable strategic thinking and analysis skills, as well as the ability and confidence to draw conclusions and recommendations from a business perspective. 
    • Experience with Business Objects, SQL, or any other reporting or database software a MUST
    • Experience with digital analytics tools including Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Test & Target, a huge plus
