The goal of every Wunderman campaign is to inspire people to take action. We’re more than a good idea machine — we want to show clients that great strategies backed by data and executed correctly across channels have bottom-line impacts.

To help us succeed, Wunderman is seeking a Senior Content Strategist to join our growing team. Senior Content Strategists help the client achieve campaign and brand goals by establishing the right content presence and tone.

  • What content does the client need to create?
  • Where does the content need to live? Which channels and platforms?
  • How do we define the audience?
  • What content experience will engage the audience?

The Content Strategist’s job is to define answers to these questions for each client campaign, and back them up with data that supports success stories for lookalike audiences and brands, or through the use of best practices.

Additionally, we want Wunderman Senior Content Strategists to bring an innovative quality to the role.

If a company comes to Wunderman looking for a content solution, the Senior Content Strategist should make sure that correct use of content in owned and earned channels is a part of our campaign strategy, whether it’s a start-from-scratch approach or a push to help them rank better from an SEO perspective.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to apply client discovery, consumer research, and competitive analysis to create a comprehensive and integrated digital strategy across platforms
  • Strategic competency coupled with an acute ability to translate big-picture ideas into aligned, impactful content pieces. For example, read a campaign or project summary, and then demonstrate strategic insight to:

- Define content goals for the client and tie them to key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Create a content roadmap with associated campaign/project goal alignment across the digital ecosystem (website, blog, social media, third       party digital properties) and in partnership with traditional marketing channels
- Provide recommendations as to how clients can reach those goals through different content implementations
- Structure content strategies through the use of personas, tone of voice, and content themes
- Manage the long term execution plan from the client’s stated objectives

  • Develop personas, user journeys, IA and User Experience
  • Content calendar creation led and supported by data and strategy
  • Exhibit solid communication skills in order to effectively present strategic and tactical plans to clients and internal teams - new business experience a plus
  • Collaborate with writers, designers, social strategists, and paid media leads to ensure the content recs and strategies align with other department recommendations and tactics
  • Work with project leads to identify individual inputs needed to produce the overall deliverables
  • Provide requirements for teams to use when executing or reviewing content recommendation implementations
  • Document best practices backed up by validated research
  • Inform processes for the team that ensure high-quality deliverable output, strategic alignment, and efficient workflows
  • Review performance of recommendations, and then provide data-driven insights, optimizations and content strategies to the internal teams and to the client

Qualifications

  • Above average familiarity with digital tactics of website and blog content, social media, digital UX, and paid media (paid search, paid social, display)
  • At least 5 years in digital marketing, brand marketing, social marketing, communications, PR, or a combination of those fields
  • Proven experience using websites, search, and social to accomplish brand, client, or business goals
  • A reliable subject matter expert
  • Highly organized / Highly detailed / Excellent time management skills
  • Past experience effectively improving results through content
  • Account or team management experience
  • Agency and/or consulting experience a plus
  • E-Comm experience a plus
  • Regulated industry experience (healthcare / finance, for example) a plus
