Provide fist level support to WDM users and execution of daily tasks to ensure smooth operation of the Unix/Linux infrastructure.
Install, configure, operate and maintain Red Hat Linux systems
Support backup/restore operations using Netbackup
Successfully troubleshoot and resolve most issues and escalate complex issues to senior team members when necessary to ensure a timely and appropriate resolution.
Execute and manage OS and Application Patch processes and monitor systems for capacity, availability and security compliance
Ensure that all support requests, projects and other tasks are reviewed, prioritized, addressed and completed in a timely and proficient manner
Ensure that all systems policies, standards, procedures, checklists, agreements, diagrams, inventory, etc…. necessary to administer Unix/Linux servers and related infrastructure are properly documented and adhered to
Coordinate with members of the Unix team, rest of the organization and any others needed to ensure proper implementation, support and maintenance of systems
2 to 5 years’ experience with Red Hat Linux installation, management and troubleshooting
Knowledge of networking and networking protocols
Knowledge of server utilization of SAN and NAS storage
Experience with Solaris 10, Solaris 11, Red Hat Satellite, Puppet is desirable but not required
BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience
