Our rapidly growing Toronto office is currently seeking an exceptional Senior Digital Strategist to join our thriving strategy & planning team.  This position will report into the SVP, Director Strategy and is located in our downtown Toronto office.  The successful candidate will be part of a community of other strategists, planners and analysts in our Toronto and Vancouver offices.  This role will mainly be the strategic lead servicing the GSK consumer health business, a portfolio of sixteen brands such as Buckley’s, TUMs, Voltaren, Sensodyne, Pronamel, and Abreva, but could extend to other brands within our client list, such as IKEA and BMW.


At Wunderman, the Senior Digital Strategist is the strategic lead to both internal teams and clients – able to intimately understand the client’s business and set the strategic vision and digital roadmap for their brand while galvanizing internal teams (account, creative, technology) through established strategic methodologies. They are excited about tackling new grounds, leading digital marketing strategic solutions, and are able to champion teams in assessing and solving complex creative and technology-based brand challenges.  They constantly evolve and disrupt the strategic / concepting process to test new methods and frameworks to push ideation and innovation. They operate with both a ‘think’ and ‘do’ attitude – being able to establish the big picture, but equally able (and willing) to roll up their sleeves to bring their thinking to life. They are equally able to operate both conceptually and analytically to drive and inspire successful creative idea and technology solutions while leveraging data to uncover insights and establish in-market drivers of performance. 


These skills will be applied to the development of strategic solutions rooted in digital marketing, across all forms of digital advertising, website, content marketing, social media marketing, email marketing, and digital brand activations.


  • Act as a senior strategic lead within a broader agency core Team GSK, you will be responsible for the delivery of strategic solutions against, primarily, a busy multi-brand (16) GSK consumer health account.
  • As a brand builder, you understand and have experience in helping traditional brands evolve into the digital realm.
  • As a consumer champion, you understand and have experience in how consumers approach and engage with brands digitally and are an advocate and builder of satisfying, engaging and consistent brand experiences across multiple digital touchpoints. You have a natural cultural curiosity – tapped into what’s going on, what people are doing, liking, joining, sharing, and why, with an innate curiosity and ability to connect information from disparate sources.
  • You are a strong strategic thinker who is able to both uncover big ideas that inspire and excite internal and client teams and also able to lead teams from conceptual strategy through to the framing of tangible marketing solutions.  You do this by developing consumer personas, detailed journey maps, consumer, brand and cultural truths that inform insights, and multi-channel digital communication strategies.  Please note that samples of your previous work in these areas may be requested as part of the evaluation process.
  • You have a compelling personality- the kind of person others always look to for ideas. As a leader you know intuitively when to operate out front and when to support from behind- others often describe you as a personal mentor.
  • You love to lead brainstorms and workshops that are collaborative, inspiring and maximize team contributions.
  • You provide ongoing thought leadership based on discipline, key consumer, technology and digital trends


  • 8-12 years of successful experience ideally working in an agency environment, with a focus area in digital strategy.
  • Ideally, at minimum, an undergraduate university degree with a focus on marketing.
  • Experienced at working on multiple assignments at once: able to regularly switch gears from brand to brand; able to lead, partner, direct and manage and work with other team members- you ideally have experience managing other teammembers as direct reports.
  • Excellent and persuasive communication skills: able to author, design and deliver detailed strategic content in PowerPoint or Keynote; able to clearly articulate and sell your strategies in relatable and convincing ways. Please note that you may be asked to demonstrate these as part of the evaluation process.
  • You are able to process large amounts of client documentation, various sources of research and translate into digital strategies that align with the client’s business goals.
  • A natural hunter, you are able to proactively work with other senior members of your core team to uncover opportunities for increased digital work with existing and prospective clients.
