We are seeking an Associate Creative Director-Copy that will manage the day-to-day creative responsibilities of an exciting new piece of health care/OTC business with a focus on copy direction.  The ACD is expected to prioritize and manage the workflow of their copy team from innception to final product,  thus ensureing the quality of content and style are meeting the client’s marketing strategies and objectives.  

The ACD also provides guidance and acts as a mentor to junior copywriters.


About the role:


As the creative point-person on their accounts, the ACD leads creative teams from conception through the production of final deliverables. You will need a strategic mind and the ability to direct creative within a brand’s equities, inspiring innovative concepts that are on strategy, on budget, true to the brand equities and builds clients’ business. Sound problem solving abilities, supreme attention to detail and the highest standards of quality will be keys to your success. Strong interpersonal and client skills are absolutely necessary.


At Wunderman, the ACD is expected to be well-versed in digital, such as website design, rich-media advertising, email, social or mobile and be able to apply them to integrated solutions for our clients.

You will be client facing and have successfully led or managed complex digital projects including but not limited to: websites, digital videos, mobile, applications, content development and social.   • Manage the creative responsibilities on select account(s) under the supervision of a Group Creative Director or Executive Creative Director
  • Manage creative projects from concept through production; provide innovative, conceptual and solid art direction to designers as well as copy direction to copywriters
  • Lead creative presentations internally and to clients
  • Drive creative innovation and development
  • Assign work and proactively lead creative teams on accounts
  • Take responsibility for assuring your teams have all the information and assets needed to complete their work
  • Respond to all clients’ day-to-day issues/concerns that do not require the Group Creative Director’s involvement
  • Nurture and develop the skill sets of all members of the team(s); lead, mentor and motivate creative staff at the day-to-day level
  • Write and/or supervise and approve development of Performance Appraisals
    for assigned staff
  • Consult with the resource manager on assignments of staff across the various clients and accurately provide design time estimates
  • Participate in RFP’s and new business pitches
  • Play a key role within the creative department in assisting the Group Creative Director with staffing/training of all levels of art teams
  • Stay current with design/industry trends and advances in digital technologies
  • Be attuned to and knowledgeable of societal and cultural trends



  • Degree in advertising, English, communications, marketing or other relevant field
  • 8+ years experience in an advertising, interactive agency or related environment, with at least 3 in a senior copywriting role
  • Excellent copywriting abilities; must be grammatically competent and literate
  • Excellent communication, cooperative and organizational skills; a self-motivated,
    detail-oriented individual able to manage many projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint required
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, management, cooperative and leadership skills
  • Ability to interact positively with clients and employees at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines.
  • Superior attention to detail.
  • Exceptional problem solving skills
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS and other common web technologies, knowledge of PhotoShop, Illustrator, Flash helpful
  • Good sense of typography and design
