Overview

This is a position within the Marketing Operations department of the Production Services business unit of Wunderman. This individual works as part of a team of consultants that support clients’ marketing activities.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of a Manager, this individual performs the following functions:

  • Works with clients and Wunderman personnel to understand client’s marketing strategy
  • Owns the campaign solutions by fully understanding the database and client business to insure that the proposed solutions not only “get the campaigns out the door” but support the bigger picture
  • Uses software tools, primarily IBM Watson Marketing (i.e., Unica Campaign), to design and code medium-to-complex Campaign flows using a multi-relational database and external files, and executes multi-channel campaigns by following established processes
  • Uses SQL to create external files and brings them into Campaign to execute Campaign flows
  • Understands campaign and reporting best practices, and recommends these practices to clients and Wunderman personnel when appropriate
  • Troubleshoots and resolves problems or issues with Campaign and/or reporting software used by Wunderman personnel and/or clients
  • Provides oversight and mentoring to other Marketing Operations Consultants as a team lead

Qualifications

Minimum Business Skills:

  • Strong understanding of marketing concepts and/or industry experience in the transportation / airline or health insurance vertical market
  • Strong problem-solving skills and proven ability to work independently with clients
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written English
  • Ability to translate technical concepts to business users and to take business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
  • Proactive communicator
  • Service oriented
  • Ability to multi-task and be self-motivated
  • Ability to build and maintain team relationships across geographic areas (i.e., client and various Wunderman offices)
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Well organized and adept at prioritizing work
  • Consulting experience a plus

Minimum Technical Skills:

  • Minimum of five years’ experience with IBM Watson Marketing (Unica) Campaign, most recently on version 8.6 or greater
  • Familiarity with HTML
  • Fundamental understanding of basic database concepts
  • Minimum of four years’ hands-on experience with Structured Query Language (SQL), including experience with join and aggregate data functions
  • Prior experience in marketing database solutions; experience in direct marketing a plus
  • Detail-oriented, especially as it relates to data
  • Solid working foundation in Microsoft Word, Excel and PL/SQL

Other:

  • Knowledge and experience with multi-channel and digital marketing deployment (i.e., email, search, landing pages, SMS, APIs, USPS)
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools (SAP BusinessObjects, QlikView, IBM Cognos) a plus
  • Ability to write highly complex Unica Campaign flows using macros a plus
  • Knowledge of SAS a plus
