Overview

  • User Experience Designers create strategies and provide direction for the design and development of digital interactive products that provide business solutions for our clients. The primary focus of the UX designer is the user’s experience and interaction.  The UX Designer is a practitioner of user research, information architecture, digital functionality & interaction, and interface design.  As a Senior UX Designer, the role has deeper integration into the clients' businesses and strategies, contributing to the overall vision, as well as the tactics and products to support that vision.  The Senior UX designer also acts as a mentor and problem-solving resource to more junior team members.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to interactive creative strategy development.
  • Evangelizes user center design principles and represents the consumer in the creative process.
  • Participates in user experience and creative concept processes. Will sometimes lead concept processes on specific projects.
  • Contributes to research, creation, and prioritization of project requirements.
  • Writes heuristic and competitive analyses.
  • Provides artifacts, deliverables and direction to support Design and Development.
  • Creates personas and concept models when applicable.
  • Creates process flows, navigation maps, content strategies, and contact flows.
  • Creates user interface design wireframes across a spectrum of fidelities as necessitated by project requirements.
  • Creates usability test pans, assists in creation of test assets, conducts usability tests, and prepares usability test findings reports.
  • In creating deliverables, the user experience designer acts as a mediator, reconciling the often-competing agendas of various stakeholders.
  • Provides Level of Effort estimates and timing estimates for UX deliverables on a given project.
  • Documents all functional requirements from delivery of final UX documentation to Development team.
  • Conducts QA of developed prototypes prior to launch.
  • Provides subject-matter expertise perspective and direction on new interactive technologies innovations as they apply to creating user experiences.
  • Contributes to new business projects as requested.
  • Develops new techniques to conduct user centered research and helps establish those techniques as part of our process: field visits, observation, card sorting, interviews, cognitive walk through, contextual inquiry and more.
  • Provides input and direction on process improvements and enhancements within the UX and overall digital product development workflows
  • Works closely with development team.
  • Provides training and mentorship for associate UX team members.
  • Takes the time to notice, recognize and appreciate the achievements of individuals and teams

Qualifications

  • Six or more years of user experience design, information architecture, software product design or relevant experience in an agency or interactive product development environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Command of information architecture, interface design, and usability/testing principles.
  • Command of information architecture and interface design tools like Axure, Balsamic, Omnigraffle, Visio, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML and other presentation layer technologies.
  • Demonstrated skill for designing, prototyping, specifying, and communicating user interface designs.
  • Demonstrated experience in the generative and conceptual phases of a product life cycle.
  • Designing user experiences for consumer products and bigger brands is a plus.
  • Portfolio of relevant work for review is required.
