Role Overview

As a senior marketing technology strategist who fully understands the digital landscape and how it fits together, you are adept at bridging the gap between Marketing and Technology. 

Utilizing your unrivalled marketing technology experience you will lead clients through a digital transformation process.  With your superior knowledge of data and solid experience of marketing technology strategy, you will design capabilities that create real value.  Architecting solutions that our global clients can deploy strategically and efficiently. 

As an Acceleration Consultant you will be a self-motivated, problem solver with a can do attitude, accustomed to operating in a fast paced, dynamic environment.  You will be comfortable navigating through large complex organizational structures and drawing upon your intellectual foundation to engage with new concepts.  This will allow you to bridge the gap between Marketing and I.T. by developing strategy road maps and guiding clients through discovery, planning, development, and launch. 

 

 

At the same time you will enjoy being operational when required, working on multiple projects, with a number of clients, liaising with a host of internal and external resources and scoping and executing solutions utilizing a variety of technologies.  As a result you will possess an appetite to learn about new technology platforms, be an agile learner and strategic thinker.

 

Reporting and Management Structures

The role will be based out of our London office. You will report to the Senior Business Director. The role will require travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

  • Participating in varied size and complexity of projects spanning multiple functions within the client organization
  • Build relationships with key stakeholder groups (Marketing, IT, Product Management, Project Management, Business Users and Agencies) to ensure the adoption of change at pace whilst minimizing conflict
  • Develop appropriate communication tools to effectively reach a common shared plan and approach within the client’s organization, and manage program information to stakeholders at various levels
  • Define program benefits, KPI’s, measurement criteria and create capability maturity roadmaps
  • Coordinating and drawing on multiple technical skills sets from within Acceleration and WPP, with multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams
  • Lead or contribute to client workshops, discovery interviews, requirements gathering and client-facing meetings, in general
  • Develop documentation including presentations, high level frameworks, business requirements documents, solution designs, systems architecture, technical tagging blueprints, platform training material and insight reports
  • Technical assessment with client’s IT personnel (including process and components system analysis) to understand the client’s broader technical eco-system
  • Architecting high level technical solutions in collaboration with the client and internal teams
  • Un-packing high level vision into multiple, deliverable work streams, and providing guidance and oversight to the technical delivery teams, around execution of work streams
  • Validating and auditing of solutions to ensure they conform to the solution design
  • Delivery or managing the delivery of the final solution, including short-term and long-term on-site operations or oversight, as required
  • Identifying additional up-sell and cross-sell opportunities with existing and new clients
  • Pre-sales support and scoping of projects, working with the sales and account management teams
  • Technical and day-to-day operational support for the implementation of solutions, including:
    • Liaison with Vendor Partners (Google, Adobe, Salesforce, DOMO, et al) to co-create solutions for our clients
    • Oversight of internal teams’ work streams and prioritisation of key activities to deliver results
    • Data-layer design, tagging best practice and troubleshooting (web and mobile)
    • Identify, reproduce and resolve technical issues as they relate to clients’ platforms
    • Training on platforms and processes, as required
    • Create and deliver various reports, as required

Qualifications

  • A tertiary technical qualification Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering
  • Experience across marketing technologies essential; Display, Messaging, Social, Analytics, Big Data, Mobile, Content Management
  • Consulting experience essential; Demonstrated client interaction, particularly directing clients through the digital transformation journey
  • Familiar with the following tools, with deep subject-matter expertise in at least two:
    • Web analytics platforms
    • Data visualisation platforms
    • Tag management systems
    • Ad servers
    • Data management platforms
    • Integration platforms
    • Content management systems
  • Self-driven, hands on executor with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high pressure environment
  • Unparalleled interpersonal and communication skills, endorsing the forging of lasting relationships with colleagues, clients and partners at all levels
  • Clear and professional business English communication skills (verbal and written), including instructional, facilitation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and on multiple projects concurrently while maintaining accuracy, focus, communication standards and managing deadlines
  • Excellent listening, intervention and mediation skills
  • Team leader – ability to work independently or in a team whilst inspiring and motivating people to do well
  • Take ownership of professional skills and knowledge by proactively pursuing online and offline training and development
