Overview

The Data Strategist develops effective, executable, data-driven marketing strategies and provides an insight-driven perspective on marketing strategy and campaign execution that is based on multiple data sources, in-depth analytics, customer behavioral information, and analysis of previous programs.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews client objectives & inputs to develop short and long-term data marketing strategies for the client, leveraging:
    • Sourcing of data providers
    • Campaign data strategies and test designs
    • Report metric identification and report review
    • Predictive modeling and profiling
    • Data sourcing of demographic appends
    • Marketing data infrastructure development
  • Documents data marketing strategies at both the high level and campaign-specific level in analytic plans, data strategy briefs and in strategy sections of measurement and learning plans.
  • Works cross-functionally within the agency to ensure the successful execution of client and agency strategies
  • Develops and delivers strategic client and prospect presentations
  • Reviews reporting/analytic outputs and provides insights and recommendations
  • Performs secondary research on industry trends, reports, and consumer trends to develop insights on performance and segmentation
  • Evaluates assigned clients’ marketing strategies on a periodic basis to make recommendations on data sourcing, analytics/modeling and reporting metrics
  • Supports the generation of new business and revenue opportunities by working with Account, Creative and Strategy on business development
  • Implements assigned projects / initiatives and manages them to timely completion

Qualifications

  • Advanced understanding of data marketing principles for direct mail, digital and social marketing
  • Ability to assess and analyze client objectives to produce and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Ability to synthesize information from various sources and extract key messages
  • Highly creative with first-rate conceptual, visual and writing skills
  • Superior oral communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated client management skills and service orientation
  • Highly resourceful, with strong research skills and a working knowledge of advanced marketing analytics
  • Proactive and able to work independently
  • Strong deadline orientation and ability to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a flexible, dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Visio

Education/Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in data driven marketing, including database marketing, sem / seo, social media, and/or digital marketing.
  • 3+ years of B2B marketing strategy experience preferred
  • Blend of technical and marketing experience in a management consulting or marketing agency environment
  • Comfort with Excel, Tableau, and Microsoft Office.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business, or equivalent relevant experience
