This role, in the WUNDERMAN Insights & Innovation department, is part account planner and part tactical strategist – providing both actionable insights and insightful action. As a Strategist, you will work with Client Services, Creative, and Marketing Intelligence to provide the insights needed to understand the customer experience as it exists and how it could or should be transformed. You will also have strategic and tactical planning skills to take those insights and transform them into not only big ideas that get the Creative juices flowing, but also actionable plans that can ensure execution.

 

 

About the role:

Strategists take an active part in the entire client marketing process; understanding customers and creating segmentation, identifying issues, understanding market landscape, planning and conducting insights and strategic research, forming hypotheses, creating recommendations, and helping to ensure work is insights based and results driven from start to finish. Experience Strategists are expected to be “digital first” in their thinking – but also able to engage with print, broadcast, and any other medium that should be part of the customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Key Areas of Focus:

    • Understanding of Client’s business and marketing goals
    • Understand and educate team about customer needs, goals, and journey
    • Craft messaging and positioning· Develop and present client integrated strategic recommendations & tactical plans
    • Develop content for client workshops – creative ideation, customer experience mapping, tactical planning· Competitive and Best Practice Analysis
    • Marketplace and general digital trends
    • Help with new business pitches when needed
    • Author POVs and white papers on various topics

    Expectations:

    • Excellent verbal, written, and visual presentation skills
    • Background in marketing, digital marketing, and/or account planning
    • Experience in healthcare is a plus· Packaging thinking – both visual and written
    • Self-direction
    • Know how agency works, billing, time sheets, other department functions
    • Basics of planning and experience strategy

Qualifications

  • Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree plus five years’ or more experience in marketing strategy or planning in the direct marketing field
    • Marketing experience in one or more industry categories: e.g., pharmaceuticals, health care, retail/services, high-tech, financial services
    • Experience with different channels (e.g., B2B or Broad Consumer programs)· Excellent knowledge of online research techniques
    • Advanced competencies in Microsoft Office and Internet environments
    • Ability to scope projects accurately, prioritize time well and juggle multiple projects effectively· Ability to communicate coherently and sensitively with clients, vendors and staff members· Excellent writing, verbal, presentation and consensus-building skills
    • Intuitive and analytical approach to problem solving· Ability to organize people, projects and information
    • Ability to offer proactive solutions and ensure successful progression without guidance
    • Ability to mentor and provide leadership across departments in a team and matrix environment
    • Ability to exhibit client service approach with results driven performance
